There are no pros, only cons. You could over-expose your skin and get burned. You seriously had to ask?

The reason you got burned was because you stayed in the bed too long. Shorten your time. Don't go back in for a week.

The cheapest and MOST effective sunburn relief, ANY burn relief, for that matter, is pure aloe vera gel. NOT lotion with aloe, but PURE 100% clear aloe vera gel. Put that on and the burning will stop. It will also moisturize the skin. It's a total natural miracle. You can buy it in the first-aid section of the drug store, Target, Walmart, Kmart, etc. It might also be found in the suntanning product section. Make sure it's 100% pure with no dyes or additives.

Yellowish or orange? It's not because of the bed, sweetie. It's either a spray-on tan or they're using some type of tanning bed lotion. It's called an accelerator. It's got junk it it that colors the skin. But the bulbs in a tanning bed do not turn the skin yellow or orange.

A tanning bed will give you a more controlled and even tan.

People get orange because of the dyes in the bronzers or accelerators they use, not the source of the UVA and UVB rays.

I think most people freckle more in the sun so it looks a little more natural. Thats about it.

A tanning bed tan is normally more even since it gets your entire body.

I work in a tanning salon and to get a really good base tan you need to tan at least every other day for a week or so. Start off in small amounts (You don't want to burn). The gradually add time to your tanning. (Beds vary in time and size). Use an indoor tanning solution only. There is no difference from tanning indoors to outdoors. If you use a bronzing tanning lotion before you have a base tan it will turn you yellow or an orange-ish color. Once you get the base tan, going outside will just add color and make you darker. I hope this helps! Good luck.

There is a difference in the two as far as color. In the tanning bed, you develop a more even tan than in the sun. The only reason people turn orange in a tanning bed is because they are using lotions that have bronzers in them. YUK! I am a tanner and Im like you, I want to look natural. Here is what I do. I spend two weeks before tanning hydrating. I drink plenty of water and keep lotion on my skin. I buy a month at a tanning salon. Before my session, I take a hot shower to open my pores. I use a gentle tanning lotion that has no bronzers and no tingle factor. I dont shower for 2 hours afterwards because if you do, it cools your skin down. After shower, I lotion with regular lotion. I do this for one month to get a base tan. I go back once a week after that and continue my outside work as usual. The tanning for a month gets you the base tan so its easier to tan in the sun. Hope this helps. GL!

It really depends on the quality of the tanning bed you go to, if it is not very good you might turn orange or un-naturally dark, like my friend, then you can tell its not real. You have to get it just right! If not you'll be in a jam!

no it looks just fine, but you do wanna go ahead and get your base tan first. i reccomend using a high pressure bed about 3-4 days in a row, and then you can use regular beds for about a couple times a week. but if your lookin to get a tan right away you may wanna try the spray on too, it really does look awesome if you do it right, jus t make sure you exfoliate before hand.
